One address and one form, both read by a person. The form posts to a small endpoint on this origin that turns it into email; the site around it is still plain files.

The main way in, read by a person rather than a queue. Anything that needs more than a sentence belongs here.

The form
Say what you need
It arrives as email, in the same inbox the address above reaches. Whichever you use, the reply is the same one.
Send a message
Three fields, and the message arrives as email. Nothing is stored on this side: the endpoint composes the mail, hands it to Cloudflare, and forgets it.
Your address is used to reply and for nothing else. With JavaScript switched off the form still posts, and the browser lands on a page that says so.
First message
What to put in it
None of this is required. All of it saves a round trip.
A first message does not have to be complete, and it certainly does not have to be a brief. The four things below are simply what the reply would otherwise have to ask for, so including them turns two exchanges into one. Put them in the form above, or write to hello@x3m.us directly.
- The URL of the site in question, if there is one already
- What you want to be different about it, in whatever words you have
- Roughly when, and roughly what the budget is shaped like
- Who else has to agree before anything starts
After that
What happens next
In this order, and nothing in it is a surprise or a sales stage.
1. A reply within two working days
Written by the person who would do the work. If it is not something we should take on, the reply says so and names someone better placed.
2. A call, if it is worth one
Half an hour to establish what the site is for and what is actually wrong with it. No deck, and nothing to prepare beforehand.
3. A written proposal
Scope, a fixed price, and what is deliberately excluded. It is short enough to read in full, which is the point of writing it that way.

A map, and under it the same address written out — so the block still answers the question with the script deleted.
Where we are
One address, and no reception. Post reaches it, and so does anybody who has arranged to come by; the work itself happens wherever the person doing it is.
